SOPHIE DAHL
has created a capsule collection for British cashmere label Brora, available
nationwide from April 15. The range - which is called The Lost Weekend -
features 13 pieces inspired by items that the supermodel felt were missing from
her personal wardrobe. The collaboration celebrates the brand's 20th anniversary.
"I imagined it as the-morning-after-the night-before
- a woman on an island after a party, walking home with her shoes in her
hands," Dahl told us. "Everything around her quite wild
and undone, but she's wearing these quintessentially British-feeling
colour tones and patterns. The picture in my head was one of rainy English
summers and festivals, being tarted-up and having your make-up running
everywhere - that kind of vibe."
The line includes a tea dress (one of Dahl's favourite
pieces - "It's such a great shape and print"), a slouchy fisherman's
jumper inspired by seaside shots of Brigitte Bardot, and a cashmere
shawl-collared cardigan, which the model describes as "gorgeous,
luxurious, yet relaxed". Colours come in pale rose, green and grey, with
patterns taking a faded Thirties feel.
"I am a lover of beautiful, well-made clothes and I
feel that between Brora and I, we came up with something truly special,"
added Dahl.
