Craving a new super glossy TV show? Well
it's your lucky day, as today it has been announced that the modelling reality
show The Face is coming to the UK with super Naomi Campbell (who also
starred as a judge on the US version) as Executive Producer and mentor. On the
new Sky Living show three supers will compete against each other to find 'the
face.' So who is going to battle against Naomi to find the ultimate super?
Erin O'Connor and Caroline Winberg have
been confirmed as the other two mentors, and the trio were spotted out in
London on Friday filming. Naomi said about bringing the show to the UK 'As an
English model I'm thrilled to be filming The Face in England where
my career began. I'm looking forward to Erin and Caroline joining me on the
journey to find the next great face in the modelling world.'
Naomi said of her fellow mentors: 'I have
worked with both internationally and they truly understand what's necessary to
make it in the modelling industry. It's going to be a really inspiring
journey and as executive producer on the show I truly believe we will find the
face.'
Each judge has a rather sparkling model CV
as Caroline has had major ad campaigns with the likes of Valentino, Tomy
Hilfiger and Versace, has stomped down the catwalk for everyone from McQueen to
Chanel, plus she had six seasons walking as a Victoria's Secret angel. Next up,
Erin O'Connor was first shot by Juergen Teller in 1996 and has had campaigns
with Versace, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana and more. Oh and she also starred in
an episode of Ab Fab.
Then we have Ms Naomi Campbell who hardly
needs an introduction. She was one of the five original 'supermodels' and made
her big break at just 15 years old. She was the first black model on the cover
of French Vogue, has had more campaigns than we can count and has had
more than 500 magazine covers. Gulp.
Supermodel Erin O'Connor commented about
her new gig: 'I’m thrilled to be joining the line-up of The Face – Naomi is a
huge inspiration so to be working with her on this project is an enormous
privilege. Caroline is one of the modeling world’s most exciting new talents so
to have her expertise on board is also a huge bonus – I can’t wait to get
started.'
As you would expect from a modelling
reality show, the girls will take part in challenges over the eight weeks of
filming which will include photo shoots, catwalk shows and commercials. The
winner will then represent a major brand in print, on-air and in person at
national events.
