Yves Carcelle leaving his position as CEO of Louis Vuitton after heading the company for the past 22 years to make way for Jordi Constans. In a planned out move, the former CEO steps down to become vice chairman of the Foundation Louis Vuitton.
During September of last year it was announced that the CEO of Louis Vuitton, Yves Carcelle, would be leaving his position as head of the company. To replace him is Jordi Constrans, who has been familiarizing himself with the brand for the past year.
Amidst rumors that Marc Jacobs was leaving LV to spearhead Dior, last year’s announcement fueled rumor mill. And while Marc Jacobs did not leave for Dior, these rumors are similar to the ones we are experiencing with the Balenciaga/Christopher Kane drama.
Carcelle will still remain a vice chairman of the Foundation Louis Vuitton, which is a Frank Gehry-designed art muse tam slated to open next year in Paris. And like any newbie, Constrans will have a lot of expectations to uphold.
Constrans used to be the Vice President of French food giant Danone’s (known state-wise as Danon) division of dairy products. And while the industries may not seem similar, at least from here out we can count on Louis Vuitton’s trends never going sour.
