Mulberry’s Del Rey Bag Gets Smaller

Earlier this year at a fashion show Mulberry revealed its bag collection ‘The Del Rey’ inspired by the music industry’s sensation, singer Lana Del Rey who already got some fashion credentials like an ad campaign with H&M and graced a Vogue cover.Mulberry’s creative director, Emma Hill explained why she chose to name the bag Del Rey:

I love Lana’s nostalgic references to bygone glamour and the fact that her look is retrospective, yet so modern. This inspired us to create a bag that was timeless, refined, and elegant.

The original Del Rey bag will come in some new styles for a Spring 2013 season while the small Del Rey is offered in black leather, deer brown, slate blue grainy print leather and milk chocolate heavy suede. The new finishes of the original bag will include nude silk snake print leather, slate blue ostrich, milk chocolate heavy suede, and giraffe haircalf. The small Del Rey bag is already available at Mulberry’s website in some of the colors and finishes but will hit the stores on December 1 at a price of over $1000.
