is collaborating with Junya Watanabe. The Spanish brand and
the Tokyo-based label are joining forces to create capsule collections of
clothing and accessories for both men and women.
The partnership
coincides with an initiative recently announced by the Japanese and Spanish
governments, declaring 2013-14 the Year of Spain in Japan and the Year of Japan
in Spain - in an attempt to strengthen and promote cultural, economic and
social relations between the two countries. The program also coincides with Loewe's
40th anniversary in Japan.
The first pieces from
the design collaboration will be unveiled during Watanabe's upcoming Paris
Fashion Week show, reports WWD. The collection is also set to go on
sale at Dover Street market in Tokyo and Loewe stores worldwide in September.
