NICHOLAS KIRKWOOD has teamed up with Selfridges
to produce a shoe collection inspired by new film Oz The Great And
Powerful. The one-off capsule range will feature four different styles.
The Disney-influenced
footwear will launch as part of the department store's upcoming Shoe Carnival,
and will be a focal point of the shop's Oxford Street window displays - set
against backdrops of the famous Yellow Brick Road and Emerald City.
Shoppers will then be able to step inside store to find actual yellow bricks
from the Hollywood film set - plus original costumes and props - alongside
Kirkwood's shoes which will be available to buy.
The Selfridges Shoe
Carnival will also feature a display of exclusive designs from some of the
footwear world's leading design talents - such as Rupert Sanderson and Charlotte Olympia. The festival will
also feature trend-led displays set in the store's vast shoe galleries, along
with a selection of bespoke services - from studding and hand-painting to
embossing and monogramming.
The Selfridges Shoe
Carnival will run from March 1 to April 21, 2013.
